Contest Criteria

Mandatory elements in the film

To ensure all submissions can be fairly judged and featured, all films must meet the following requirements:

Food and Bagus by Kopitiam must be an integral part of the storyline. Your story should show how food and everyday moments make life ‘bagus.’ Tell a story from your everyday life, community or personal experience that shows what makes it meaningful to you.

Your video should clearly express the spirit of Bagus Stories and the campaign theme (“My Life is Bagus”).
You could use the phrase in dialogue, narration, or as part of a scene contributing to the storyline.

Submissions should be primarily in English to ensure clarity for judging.
The use of Malay language is welcome and encouraged where relevant to the story.

How well does your video/photo reflect the spirit of Bagus Stories?

We’re looking for stories that feel authentic, meaningful, and connected to the theme. Whether it’s about your community, your daily life, or something close to your heart — your story should clearly show why it belongs in Bagus Stories.

2.      Creativity [30%]
 How original and engaging is your storytelling?
 This is your chance to interpret the theme in your own way. We love fresh ideas, unexpected perspectives, and personal touches. Whether it’s through humour, emotion, visuals or narrative, show us your unique voice and point of view.

3.       Technical Execution [30%]
 How well is your video/photo put together?
 We’ll look at overall production quality — such as clear visuals, good lighting, steady shots, and audible sound. It doesn’t have to be professionally filmed, but your story should be easy to watch, hear, and understand from start to finish.

Frame Rate: 24 or 25 FPS only
Audio: Stereo Channels, AAC codec, 48kHz sample rate
Duration: 1 – 4 mins

All entries must be submitted via the online submission form on this landing page no later than 2359hrs (GMT +8) on 30 June, 2026.

Can I submit more than one entry?

No, each individual is permitted to submit only one entry under their name.

Yes. A key person must be appointed and indicated on the entry form.

Yes you can, as long as the film adheres to our contest criteria and it hasn’t won a prize in another competition.

The submission deadline is 30th June 2026.

When will winners be announced?

Winners will be announced on 30 July 2026 and contacted via email.

Not necessarily, as long as the story fits the theme. 

Yes, you can submit a video/photo entry even if they were submitted to another competition, as long as it adheres to our contest criteria. However, you cannot submit a video/photo which previously won a prize in another competition, or any works similar to them.

No. All entries upon submission are considered final. 

Do I need to include credits or acknowledgements in the film?

Awarding credits or acknowledgements is up to your own discretion, but kindly ensure to obtain permission from any talents involved or parental/guardian approval for those under 18.

Kopitiam Investment takes copyright infringement very seriously. All contents used in your film must be original, licensed, or royalty-free. Participants are responsible for ensuring that all copyrights in their submitted entries are cleared for the uses described in these Terms and Conditions.
